10 Years Old Today!!

Today was the boys birthday, a whopping 10 years he has been around. However, with everything going on these last few days (3 days of cub scout day camp on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday & a Day Out with Thomas on Sunday), Erik's birthday did draw the short straw. So, we went to see Up in 3D, and then spent about 2 hours at the arcade in Chuck E. Cheese. When we got home we had cupcakes and opened presents. Pretty quiet, but we plan to have a water party with his friends later in the summer. OK, I feel a little guilty, but I only have so many hours in the day, next year....

Day Out With Thomas

Sunday, June 21, 2009...It may have been Father's Day, it may have been the longest day of the year, it may have even been my birthday, but...it was also Kassie's long awaited DAY OUT WITH THOMAS!!!!!!! Yes, it finally arrived after nearly two months of waiting, gathering our change and turning it into dollars...Sunday June 21st arrived!

We started out at 6:00 in the morning for Durango, and Aunt Donna even sat in the back seat (even though she gets car sick, she brought her ipod and went to her happy place going over Red Mountain pass). We got into Durango around 10:30 and got started
The first thing we did was get in line to see Sir Topham Hat, but the closer we got, the more nervous Kassie got. In the end Nancy had to stand between them! Next we went to the petting area, where Nancy got to pet some pigs (now she wants one). Then it was on to the tattoo tent, I would have got some pictures of everyone else getting tats, but while the lady was busy putting them on everyone, I was busy stealing a stack of tattoos from the table for later. I almost got caught but I lie really well! Next it was over to listen to the singing conductor, Tim.

Yeah, he was pretty hot, but then it was time for the main event!!

A great time was had by all, Emily even had her own engine!

Go Thomas Go, and then we came home!!

I'm Doin' a Happy Dance!!!

I know you can't see me, but right now I am doin' a serious happy dance. My sweet husband called me this morning as he was getting off his 12 hour night shift, to let me know that he was offered a new job in IT this morning!!!!! Finally!! You see with us timing has always been against us. Back in 2001, Scott was just getting ready to submit his retirement paperwork when Islamics slammed into the Pentagon and World Trade Center. As a result, his retirement was blocked for an additional year. Then, just as he was getting out, with 15 years of IT experience, the dotcom crash, gggrrrr. But, because my husband is a stand up guy, and would dig ditches if he needed to support his family, he fell back on a career skill he didn't think he would ever need to use again. Being a Federal Police officer has had its ups and downs, but the serious down was the schedule, which rotated every other weekend and several nights of weeks every few months. I am so excited to be able to plan all his future weekends for him!! So all I can say is MY HUSBAND IS AWESOME!!!!
